Adult Day ReCreation
-
The term "daycare" doesn't adequately represent the level of care, engagement, and diginity we provide. Beyond providing a safe space with top tier care, every participant is encouraged to participate in a wide range of recreational activities every day. Furthermore, the emphasis on creation directly reflects our expertise in music and art therapy - which is a cornerstone of our programming.
Finally, aging isn't synonymous with slowing down. We believe it’s never too late to learn, grow, and reinvent yourself. Adult Day ReCreation is about enhancing every day... not just supervising it. -
Adult day care provides structured, supervised daytime support for older adults, including health monitoring, social engagement, meals, therapeutic activities, and personal care. It supports independence while allowing caregivers time to manage other responsibilities and the peace of mind to know their loved one is being cared for and having fun!
-

Occupational Therapy (OT)
-
OT helps individuals maintain or regain independence in daily activities such as bathing, dressing, cooking, mobility, and home safety. At NSS, OT is integrated across ALL programs and is one of our major differentiators. We specialize in dementia care, stroke recovery, fall prevention, and aging in place, using evidence-based tools such as COPE and Skills2Care.
Occupational Therapy helps people participate in the daily activities that give their lives meaning — from self-care and mobility to community engagement and caregiving.
At NSS, OT focuses on education, consultation, and prevention, helping older adults and caregivers stay safe, independent, and confident at home. -
Stroke recovery, dementia, post-surgery rehab, mobility challenges, chronic disease, fall risk, and functional decline related to aging.
-
NSS takes an innovative, holistic, home-based approach that goes beyond traditional OT. Sessions occur in the home, include caregivers, and incorporate social work, nursing, and psychological support. OT collaborates with RNs, care navigators, and dementia specialists for a fully integrated care model.
Unlike traditional rehabilitation, therapy at NSS is community-based and consultative.
Rather than focusing on medical treatment, our therapist works directly with families and caregivers in their homes or communities to identify challenges, provide practical solutions, and prevent issues before they arise. -
Yes. Our certified aging-in-place specialist provides comprehensive safety assessments to reduce fall risk, improve independence, and recommend modifications.
